BEWARE: Major Privacy Violation

At one point they went into my room, took pictures of a small blood stain on my sheets and some leftover food, called the police and were waiting for me when I returned. They showed the police they had taken pictures inside my room without my permission, indicting themselves for a violation of privacy. The police informed me the hotel needed me to leave for "violating rules." I started recording on my phone and stuck it in my pocket. I happen to work for the US DoD and had some "sensitive" information I had left in my backpack as I had been assured no one would enter my room. I recorded a 1 hour argument the staff had with 6 police officers. The police officers asked me to leave and I refused. They knew they could not make me leave and didn't even know I was recording. I was able to receive a full refund of 1500 euros for my 30 night stay from booking.com after sending them the recording. I stayed for 2 more nights then flew out. Beware.

This hotel is very tranquil with some nice amenities such as a garden terrace, comfortable bed and huge shower for European standards. The room was also very spacious. Housekeeping service is very professional. Location is close to many dining options,grocery stores. Walking distance to rossi square and the bullring.

As this is both a hostel & hotel, the kitchen area is off limits for breakfast at certain times. But this is not clearly sign-posted. Also when I asked for milk, which I wasn't supposed to do, again not signposted, the cleaner moaned at me for almost 10 minutes about what the rules were! I apologised for making a mistake but she wouldn't stop, as that's what the owners had enforced. I complained to owners but barely got an apology. Also my personal email address was used in wrong email too. Otherwise a good location, close to reasonably priced eateries, shops and tourist attractions. Good size rooms & lovely garden. But for the same price, there are other places nearby that don't have shared kitchens or bathrooms.

I spent few days at Pouso Dos Anjos and found a very quiet and clean hotel. The receptionists were very welcoming, smiling and it made my stay even better. Common bathrooms were always clean, not smelly and the garden on the 2nd floor is worth the shot after a long day walking around Lisbon. The only downside was the heat at night due to no AC in the room, but the fan available by the window did the job pretty well. I definitely recommend that hotel, well located and surrounded by groceries, restaurant etc...

A very impressive building inside, traditional, lovely original staircase. Every room has a big, wide door which makes you feel like stepping back in time. The rooms are extremely clean, fluffy towels. OK, there is a fee to change them... But it felt more a way of trying to fight the ecological waste that some guests cause. Breakfast basic. Staff is very smiley, friendly and helpful. The garden is an hidden gem. I've been in a few places in Lisbon and I can say I stayed in more dated places with worst facilities for higher fees. I'd say, good value for money, I'd be back!
